XArena™ Receives Planning Board Approval for Indoor Extreme Sports Facility
25 Million Dollar Trenton, New Jersey Project to Move Forward Immediately
Trenton, NJ – XArena Motor Sports™ announced today that the Trenton, New Jersey City Planning Board has unanimously approved XArena’s plans to build a 232,000 square foot indoor action sports facility along Route One and Olden Avenue.
The City Planning Board held its meeting on Tuesday, November 26, 2002. After hearing testimony of its economic benefits and examining the plans for the arena over the past several months, the board overwhelmingly approved the use of the former PSE&G land located on Olden Avenue near Route 1 for construction of the first indoor action sports facility of its kind.
Following the board’s decision, XArena officials indicated that they are ready to proceed and construction will begin in the very near future.
“The unanimous decision of this board is proof that they have stepped behind XArena and support what we are trying to do for the City of Trenton,” said Clayton Keeler, President of XArena. “With this hearing behind us, and one final review remaining for an engineering report, our focus can now turn to the construction process and bringing to life one of the most exciting projects to hit the city, and the motorcycle industry, in years. ”
The project is expected to take approximately 9 months to complete and should be open for business in the summer of 2003. The facility will employ close to 200 people from the area and will generate nearly a million dollars annually in property taxes for the City of Trenton and its residents.
